Akia is a Senior Analyst at the Vriens & Partners Jakarta Office. He provides government relations support in the firm through stakeholder mapping, issue monitoring, and regulatory review. He is involved with clients from various sectors: sustainability, energy, agriculture, food and beverage, and healthcare.
Akia first joined Vriens & Partners as an intern in August 2021. Prior to joining, he worked as a coordinator for research assistants in several government-funded projects. These resulted in foreign policy recommendations for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the People’s Consultative Assembly. He also interned in the International Office of Universitas Indonesia, and assisted the university to maintain partnerships with 210 universities and institutions in more than 30 countries.
Akia majored in International Relations, at Universitas Indonesia, with a minor in Transnational Society. He was awarded the Erasmus+ mobility scholarship to undergo an exchange semester at the University of Birmingham. He was involved in the International Relations Student Body and the university’s chapter of Foreign Policy Community Indonesia. He also performed with a traditional music and dance ensemble in cultural festivals around the world: Turkey, Bulgaria, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.
