Constant Van Aerschot is Senior Counselor at Vriens & Partners, specialized in sustainability. He set up and leads the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Singapore, the partner organisation of the WBCSD. This CEO-led organization of forward-thinking companies focuses on shared actions to create a sustainable future for business, society and the environment.
Constant is a construction sector expert with a wealth of business consulting, strategy and sustainability experience in Europe and South East Asia. Constant advises clients on strategic and operational sustainability solutions. He delivers training to corporate managers on concrete methodologies, tools and business processes to help companies create a competitive advantage and to mitigate risks.
He is a guest faculty at INSEAD.
As Vice President for Sustainable Development & Public Affairs at LafargeHolcim, he co-defined the Group’s sustainability programme “Ambition 2020”, monitored and shaped regulations that impact the Group’s cement, gypsum and concrete business. While at Alcatel-Lucent, Constant held corporate strategy responsibilities, focusing on M&A opportunities. Before this, he set up and ran Arup’s building design practice in Germany.
Constant holds a Masters in Civil Engineering from the ETHZ (Switzerland), an MBA from Cranfield University (UK) and a Diploma in Directorship from SMU (Singapore).
