Prof Dr Abdul Kadir is a senior advisor at Vriens and Partners Jakarta Office. He has held various high level position in the field of public health and medicine. Prof Dr Abdul Kadir just recently retired as Director General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health, Republic of Indonesia. During his tenure, he was responsible in formulating standards and procedures of health facilities and services in Indonesia. He also provided technical guidance and supervised the reporting and evaluation of primary, referral, traditional and complimentary health facilities in Indonesia. Prior to this position, he was the President Director of Dharmais Cancer Hospital, the national cancer referral hospital in Indonesia and President Director of Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital, the main referral hospital in the eastern part of Indonesia.
Prof. Dr Abdul Kadir is also a prominent academician in the medical field. Started his career as a General Practitioner, he became an ENT Specialist and lecturer in Medical Faculty, Hasanuddin University and received his title of Professor in that university. After his retirement from the Ministry of Health, he was appointed by President Joko Widodo and hold the position of the Head of Supervisory Board of BPJS Kesehatan, the only universal health coverage social security in Indonesia.
