Kai Quan is an analyst at Vriens & Partners’ Kuala Lumpur office. Kai Quan supports client engagements across the tourism, healthcare, e-commerce, and payments sectors, and contributes to the firm’s strategic development through stakeholder engagement and outreach activities.
Within the tourism sector, he supports risk monitoring and policy advocacy related to key regulatory developments, including the Tourism Tax, the Tourism Industry Act, and guidelines governing short-term rental accommodations. In the payments space, he monitors developments in the consumer credit and payments landscapes. He also supports client engagement with government stakeholders in the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors.
Prior to joining Vriens & Partners, Kai Quan worked with the Tronoh State Assemblyman, where he supported constituency-level work and local government engagement. His responsibilities included supporting field visits, stakeholder engagement, and the planning and execution of community and political events.
Kai Quan holds a Bachelor of Arts in International and Strategic Studies from Universiti Malaya, with a specialization in East Asian Studies focusing on China, Korea, and Malaysia–China relations.
