Thuy is an Associate at Vriens & Partners’ office in Vietnam where she supports clients’ development of government affairs strategies, engagement activities, and policy research needs. With more than 10 years working in Vietnam’s banking and financial sectors, Thuy brings extensive experience in policy and project management within the financial market to support her clients.
From 2010 to 2022, Thuy worked at the International Cooperation Department of the State Securities Commission (SSC) of Vietnam. During this time, she contributed to the success of various development programs and technical assistance for the financial market with different multilateral partners including the World Bank, and Asian Development Bank. She was the primary policy advisor for several bilateral partners, including Australia, the U.S, GIZ and others. Besides these partner activities, Thuy engaged closely on SSC efforts on securities market policy development with an focus on market supervision and inspection, risk management, corporate governance, and product development. Within SSC, Thuy was also the consulting specialist on development of an international securities market.
Before joining the SSC, Thuy worked in the banking sector where she was responsible for ensuring the smooth inter-bank operations and developing clients in the Transaction Department in Indovina Bank – Hanoi Branch.
Thuy holds a Master’s Degree in public economics in the Public Policy and Social Research Program via her JDS scholarship from Japan’s Government in 2020.
