Tuan is a Senior Associate at Vriens & Partners’ office in Vietnam. He brings along over 10 years of professional experience in a variety of areas including policy analysis, public procurement and socio-economic consultancy.
In the past five years, Tuan worked for the Public Procurement Agency (PPA) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI). As the Head of International Cooperation Division, Tuan directly participated in the negotiations of almost all new-generation agreements, including Trans Pacific Partnership, the FTA between Vietnam and the European Union (EVFTA), the FTA between Viet Nam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), and the FTA between Viet Nam and Korea (VKFTA).
From 2004-2012, Tuan worked for the National Center for Socio-economic Information and Forecast under MPI as a Researcher. He took the leading role in performing quarterly and annual economic analyses and forecasts, and conducting various corporate surveys and studies. He was also broadly known as a Regulatory Impact Assessment Ambassador under the Program for Enhancing Regulatory Quality (PERQ), a cooperative initiative between the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) and the US Agency for International Development – the Vietnam Competitiveness Initiative (USAID/VNCI).
Tuan received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the Academy of Journalism and Communication, and a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University (Australia).
