Sokkea is Associate Director at Vriens and Partners’ office in Cambodia. In her current role, she leads the Cambodia office in developing the firm’s strategies, facilitates communication and coordination with clients, and manages multi-sectoral projects in the Cambodian market.
Before joining the firm, Sokkea had over 16 years of experience working at the U.S. Embassy and with other international development programs. She was the pioneer in establishing the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) office located at the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and held the position of the USDA country representative for four years. Before that, she spent over five years as an Economic and Commercial Specialist in the Political and Economic section of the U.S. Embassy, where she supported U.S. companies in expanding their presence in the Kingdom. Prior to her work at the U.S. Embassy, she was an agribusiness advisor and a program officer across various international development initiatives for more than seven years.
Sokkea holds a master’s degree in policy economics from Williams College in the United States, a bachelor’s degree in business from the National University of Management in Cambodia, and a bachelor’s degree in education from the Royal University of Phnom Penh. In addition to her full-time roles, Sokkea has experiences in various other fields, including serving as a part-time university lecturer, writer, and radio presenter in Cambodia.
