Rom Aroonvisoot

Rom is former civil servant with an extensive network across the Thai bureaucracy currently serving an Associate at Vriens & Partners’ Thailand office. His portfolio encompasses clients across a range of sectors, including technology, finance, healthcare, and energy.

Prior to joining the firm, Rom served for twelve years at Thailand’s Ministry of Finance. His responsibilities included advancing regional economic cooperation under the ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting framework, with a particular focus on initiatives related to financial inclusion, sustainability-linked and digital financial products, and taxonomy development. In addition to his policy work, Rom held staff roles under several ministers and was responsible for producing monthly economic monitoring reports, with an emphasis on fiscal and financial policies shaping Thailand’s macroeconomic outlook.

During his tenure at the Ministry of Finance, Rom was an advisor to the Office of the Executive Director representing Southeast Asia at the World Bank in Washington D.C. for 2 years. In this capacity, he contributed to key publications, including the Global Economic Prospects report, and provided direct support in the development of post-COVID-19 recovery strategies. He was also actively involved in enhancing collaboration with ASEAN counterparts and senior officials at the World Bank headquarters.

A government scholar, Rom holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Economics from University College London.
