Megan Ooi is an Associate at Vriens & Partners’ office in Malaysia. In her role, Megan provides government relations support for clients in various sectors such as tech, healthcare, transportation and tourism.
Previously, Megan worked at a non-governmental organization dedicated to human rights reform in Malaysia. She assisted the organization in creating parliamentary briefs and advocating for the abolishment of anti-humanitarian laws.
Megan recently completed her double master’s degree specializing in International Security, Conflict Management and International Administration with the University of Konstanz and the University of Warwick. Her master’s thesis the internal dynamics of Indonesia and the Philippines and how it influenced the countries’ deradicalization strategy for religious terrorists. Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Nottingham. During her studies, Megan was an active volunteer in numerous student organizations. In her spare time, Megan does outdoor activities and learns foreign languages.
