Cynthia Lorraine is a Senior Analyst at Vriens & Partners’ Malaysian office. Her work at Vriens & Partners covers several sectors including fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), sustainability, technology, and the automotive industry. Her sustainability work involves policy monitoring and advocacy on extended producer responsibility (EPR), while her FMCG experience includes navigating the regulatory environment governing nutrition profiling, market advertising policies, and front-of-package labelling. Her work in the energy and technology industry covers providing research and policy support on market integration and renewable energy sourcing.
Prior to working at Vriens & Partners, she worked in the policy and advocacy sphere at the Center for Independent Journalism, with a particular focus on media policies, gender equality, and content regulation. She co-authored various reports on the aforementioned policy areas for the purpose of advocacy on regional and global platforms, and worked with local communities to build advocacy pathways through capacity-building initiatives. She simultaneously served as a member of the board of the Media Council from 2025-2026. She also previously served as a legal researcher specializing in public interest and administrative law, while providing research-based support on international human rights policies.
Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Taylor’s University, where her academic areas of interest focused on international human rights law and public policy. In her free time, she enjoys reading fiction and café-hopping.
