Faris is an Analyst at Vriens & Partners’ office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Prior to joining Vriens & Partners, Faris played a key role as a Restructuring Services consultant in a Big 4 accounting firm, assisting with asset recovery for clients. In this role, his experience ranges in multiple industries including renewable energy and oil palm cultivation.
Faris earlier worked as a researcher at the Parliamentary Office of Permatang Pauh. In this role, his primary duties involved providing research work for parliamentary speeches and other publications for the Member of Parliament. He also assisted the MP during the 15th General Election, drafting talking points for campaign speeches and media interviews covering broad areas such as climate action, multidimensional poverty, and Islamisation in the Malay community.
Faris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History Politics and Economics (First Class Honours) from the University College London, where he specialised in the history of ideas, democratisation processes, and political research methods. As a student, he was actively involved with the Malaysian Philosophy Society, an NGO focusing on spreading practical philosophy education in Malaysia. In his free time, he enjoys physical exercise and reading philosophy.
