Allard Nooy is a seasoned senior executive with extensive experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors. During his over 30 years in Asia, Allard established an excellent track record in the sustainable infrastructure, energy transition and project financing space in Asia’s emerging and frontier markets. He offers a profound understanding of industry intricacies and strategic foresight.
With a key focus on implementing and developing growth strategies, he successfully led several infrastructure, renewable energy, and environmental companies, by creating new assets, acquiring existing assets and companies as well as structuring a range of projects like Private Public Partnerships (PPP) and Build Own Operate Transfer (BOOT) structures. His dedication to advancing the sector and fostering sustainable solutions underscores his commitment to driving positive change.
Allard’s previous roles include:
- President of South & Southeast Asia of Fortescue Energy, based in Singapore.
- CEO InfraCo Asia, a commercially managed sustainable infrastructure development and investment fund, headquartered in Singapore; and active in 12 South and Southeast Asian countries.
- CEO of Jindal Aquasource and Jindal Ecopolis, based in New Delhi, India.
- President Asia Pacific at Covanta Energy Corporation, now REWorld (the world’s largest energy from waste company) based in Shanghai, China.
- Regional Director of Infrastructure Development and Country Director China, for the Leighton Group in Asia, based in Hong Kong SAR.
- Regional Director, Greater China at Thames Water International in Hong Kong SAR; and
- Country Manager of Vermeer–Ballast Nedam, while based in Vietnam.
Allard lectures at the Singapore Management University (SMU) Public Private Partnership, infrastructure finance, energy transition and sustainable finance programmes.
Previously he lectured at the National University of Singapore (NUS), a Project Finance Academy Program.
He holds a BSc (Eng) in Engineering Management and an MBA in International Business.
