Chean Sithykun is a Senior Associate at Vriens & Partners Cambodia Office. Before joining Vriens & Partners Cambodia Office, Sithykun has over ten years of experience working in the public and private sectors. In the public sector, he was a senior economist in the Macroeconomic and Fiscal Policy Department of Cambodia’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), where he worked closely with a broad range of stakeholders from government officials, development partners, and private sectors to develop public policy. Sithykun served as a member of the government’s economic working group on solar energy in Cambodia, and engaged in research on electricity tariffs for industrial use.
In the private sector, he has almost eight years of experience in credit and business development with various banks in charge of corporate financing, client pipeline building and management, staff coaching, credit quality monitoring, and business plan development and articulation. Sithykun was also a freelance researcher for tax and energy economics. He regularly published research articles and gave lectures.
Sithykun holds two Master Degrees, including Master Degree in Public Policy in Economic Policy from the Australian National University in 2017 and Master Degree in Business Administration from the Royal University of Law and Economics in 2013. He obtained his Bachelor in Economic Sciences from the Royal University of Law and Economics in 2005.
