Dr. Than Htut is an Honorary Professor in the Occupational Health and Environmental Health Department and Preventive and Social Medicine Department at the University of Public Health, Yangon. Dr. Than Htut has significant work experience in the medical and health fields. He has worked as a General Practitioner (1976-1981), Medical Officer with the Ministry of Industry 1981-1985), and Civil Assistant Surgeon at East Yangon General Hospital (1985-1991). He has also held several positions, ranging from Medical Officer to Director, during his 30-year career, from 1991-2011, at the Occupational Health and Environmental Health Division in the Department of Health.
He has also previously served as National Program Manager for the Health City Program, WHO Project Manager for the Arsenic Mitigation Project,, and Water Sanitation and Hygiene Consultant for UNICEF. Prior to taking up his current position with University of Medicine One, Dr. Than Htut acted as the General Manager for the Sky Net Health Channel (2012-2015).
Dr. Than Htut received his MB and BS at the Institute of Medicine One in Yangon and his Master of Medicine (MMed) in Occupational Medicine at the National University of Singapore.
