Nazhif Yusoff is the Country Director at Vriens & Partners’ Malaysia practice. Working closely with clients and team members, he designs and leads clients’ public policy advocacy and government relations campaigns. He also leads teams advising clients navigating policy and political dynamics relevant to their businesses. Nazhif also oversees the Malaysian practice’s continuous improvement initiatives across its knowledge, network, and business development verticals.
At V&P, Nazhif has consulted for clients in the ICT, renewable energy, healthcare, transportation, and tourism sectors. Notably, he supported a global hyperscale data center company in operationalizing its multi-billion-dollar investment in Malaysia while ensuring alignment with its global renewable-energy goals. In healthcare, he has advised pharmaceutical and medical device clients on strengthening public sector market access in oncology, vaccines, infectious diseases, and diagnostics.
Nazhif has over 12 years of experience in government and private sector consulting. He previously was at the Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation, an agency under the Ministry of Economy. There, he developed the agency’s export opportunities database for Malaysian oil and gas companies and facilitated international trade missions to Southeast Asia, the USA, South America, and the Middle East.
Nazhif is also an alumnus of the prestigious two-year leadership development program Teach for Malaysia. Under TFM, he was posted to a rural school in northern Perak state, where he taught English and Malaysian History to over 300 students. There, he also initiated academic improvement programs in partnership with the Ministry of Education, corporate partners, NGOs, and constituency leaders.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service in Washington DC. He also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from Northern University of Malaysia. Nazhif is fluent in Malay and English, and proficient in Modern Standard Arabic and Brazilian Portuguese. Nazhif and his wife have three sons.
