Ye Lwin Oo has more than 10 years of experience reporting on Myanmar’s political and economic issues through work in media and communications, banking and finance, and tourism.
Before joining Vriens & Partners, Ye Lwin spent five years as a communication officer with UNICEF working closely with stakeholders from government, parliament, donor agencies, embassies and civil society. His work involved media and strategic communications planning, and reputational risk assessment. His work with the UN provided him with experience in how to successfully handle sensitive issues, often in areas of conflict.
Previously, Ye Lwin worked as a senior business journalist for seven years covering economic issues for the Myanmar Times. There, he wrote about a range of topics including macro-economic and development issues, international trade and investment, ASEAN, banking and finance, and real estate.
Ye Lwin has a master’s degree in development studies from the Yangon Institute of Economics.
