Arief Budiman is a government affairs advisor at Vriens & Partners’ Indonesia practice. He has over a decade of experience working with legislators in both houses of the Indonesian Parliament. He previously worked as an expert staff member in the upper house, as a special aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on media and political analysis, and as a special assistant to the deputy speaker of the house for strategic affairs. He also served as the Indonesia coordinator in the global legal information system of the Law Library of Congress in Washington in 2007.
Prior to joining Vriens & Partners, he held a number of advisory and consulting positions related to parliamentary affairs.
He graduated from the law faculty of Pancasila University in Jakarta, majoring in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.
