Yan Han is Associate Director at Vriens & Partners’ office in Washington, DC. In her current role as lead of the Washington DC office, she works directly with the firm’s leadership on business strategy to establish and develop V&P’s first office outside of Southeast Asia. She manages and coordinates regional workstreams, supports the firm’s multi-sectoral work for clients in Southeast Asia, as well as advance the firm’s relationships with a range of stakeholders on Southeast Asia in Washington, DC.
Before joining Vriens & Partners, Yan Han was a foreign service officer at Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). She served at the Singapore Embassy in Washington, DC, where she oversaw the Southeast Asia, economic, energy, and climate portfolios, as well as co-led the Embassy’s congressional engagement. She also worked on the Southeast Asia and Middle East desks at the MFA headquarters, where she oversaw and coordinated inter-agency efforts and policies concerning Singapore’s bilateral relationships in these regions.
Yan Han has a Bachelor of Science (Foreign Service) from Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, where she majored in Regional and Comparative Studies (Middle East and Asia), as well as a Master of Science (Political Science) from Universiteit Leiden. A recipient of the Singapore Government Scholarship (Foreign Service), Yan Han is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, and has a working knowledge of Arabic.
